| This has been a very busy summer for us at Fort Illio Kennels. For starters we thought that we were having a litter of pups out of Ryder and Lilly, in May or June, but unfortunately we missed her heat cycle. We are hoping she comes into heat by the end of August so that will leave us with late fall pups. With this expecting litter we have been busy expanding our kennel to make room for the new guys. Which we are very excited about! With expanding the kennel it gave all of our dogs shade ( no more making shade) YES! And plenty of room for them to stretch out and run. You can view pictures of our new and improved kennel below. Also some more exciting news, is we now have a new family member...RYDER! We are absolutely thrilled to have him be apart of our kennel. He is such an amazing dog. Very calm and smart. We were so excited when Joan Farnham said yes she would part with him!! With him being a Kodiak Zapetec son we knew we wouldn't have a problem with him fitting into our kennel. We just can't wait to put this magnificent boy in harness. Some other news is we have decided to race mid distance races this year, so we have been real busy trying to get everything together for this coming race season. We are now currently building a new 8 dog dog box to match our other one. Meanwhile trying to get our trailer all tuned up and ready to go before it turns cool enough to run! Every year we try to give everyone a bath. Well this past weekend we gave 6 dogs bath. Lets just say it was quite amusing! The dogs were Kody Kid, Devil, Ryder, Brat, Storm and Kiowa. With it being warm on Sunday most of them loved it. You can view pictures below of our bath adventures.:) That is about all of our news for now, until we get some pups to keep us even busier!
