Dog Statistics Nov. 2009
First off I just want to say the team is doing amazing this year. They
have come so far sense last year, I am astonished and speechless! They
have really come into their own, and doing great with all the new
training we have been doing, to get ready for the longer races! Training
has been going really well, and we are close to 150 miles ahead of last
year at this time. And the best part of it is, the team really looks, and
acts like it too! Ok enough rambling on, here are the dog statistics for
this year, in alphabetical order!!!
Aryan is the dog that never stops pulling until we are back to the truck or on break. I swear
he never gets tired on the line, and has so much force and drive! To this date this boy has
never had an injury, eats well, has tough feet, and leads great. What more could you ask for?
Definitely one of my top males in the yard! All I have to say is he is his fathers son, and I am
so proud and lucky to own him!
Blazer is one of my hardest workers in the team. I call him and a few of my other boys that
run in wheel my steering wheels. Having Blazer not on the Can Am 60 team last year due to a
shoulder injury, was a big bummer for him and I both, where he has so much drive and is right
full of work ethics I really missed not having him on the team. He says this year he will be
finishing the Can Am 60! He is such a force to drive.
Cree is one of my up and coming leaders, who is doing extremely well in that aspect. She
showed great potential last season, but where she was still a little young last year I didn't
work with her much. But with her being in swing a lot last season, she has learned a lot of the
commands and when she is not in lead, she is usually in swing taking the commands as well. She
is one smart cookie, and is a real joy to drive!

Kaleeta is definitely the top sled dog in the kennel at the moment, and that is a very hard
task where the whole team is outstanding! She is the main leader, and drives hard and fasts,
all the time! She knows everything, and I can rely on her all the time! She drives with a lot of
force and knowledge, and will go by ANYTHING! Another one that I can say, she is her
fathers daughter and I am very very proud and lucky to own such a great athlete!
Kody is 10 next month, this is extremely hard for me to believe, because he not only acts like
he is 3 he even looks it too. Plus I have had him since he was 10 months old so its hard for me
to believe it has been that long! Kody is not letting his age take a toll on him one bit, he is
looking great and is extremely muscled up. He works like he always does and is a great boy to
have on the team always doing what he should do. Who can be a brat from time to time as well.
But thats why we will miss him when he is gone, because he keeps you on your toes all the time!
Kotka is another one of my main leaders on the team. Up until a few weeks ago I didn't have
her in lead much because I was working on new leaders, and forgot what a joy she is to drive.
She is all about speed, setting fasts pace, knows her commands extremely well, and although
she is little, she lets you know that doesn't hold her back at all, she is really powerful for
such a little thing! Definitely one of my best females in the yard, and is a real joy to have on
the team!
Marocca is doing great this season, where we just got her in April. She has this funny happy
personality, like no other dog, and its a real joy to have her in the team. She has a tenancy of
making my mom and I laugh with her funny antics. She is a very hard worker, and as focused as
she should be considering she is still young. I have to keep reminding myself she is young,
because she does really well in harness, a very easy keeper for sure!
Phoenix is really starting to show her own this season in training. She has come a long ways
from last year, and I am very amazed with her. She is a powerful girl, and works really hard
all the time. She has been in lead a few times this year, but I am not sure she is quite ready
for that role. We will continue to work with her more next year, where she is still young. Such
an easy all around girl, who also has quite the personality!
Ryder is another one of my steering wheels. He has a great force to bring to the line all the
time. A very strong and hard driving boy. Never has had an injury to date, has an awesome
appetite, great feet, and is a very easy dog to have in the team and off. What more could you
ask for? He is a big love of a guy, and is definitely one of my top males in the yard! It saddens
me to know he is getting up there in age, 9 in January! I am not ready for him to come off the
team anytime soon!
Storm is an easy going boy to have on the team. He is the dog that often gets over looked
because he is always doing his job and not causing any grief or mischief. A pleasant boy to have
on the team and in the kennel. In harness he is a very hard worker, and the longer I have
owned him the better he gets every year! A boy in the making for sure!
Wallace is an amazing boy for sure! He amazes me the more and more I run him. Wallace is
full of drive, and knowledge! He is a very hard worker, has great feet, great appetite, and did
I mention very intelligent? He is one of my main leaders, and really excels at it. Definitely
one of my best males in the yard! He is such a joy to drive as well!
Yoda is a great addition to the team. I was beyond thrilled to get him! He was everything I
ever expected and much more! He has great work ethics, and is a powerhouse in harness. I
can't wait to see what he brings to the team as we keep progressing. He is so gentle, and is a
very easy going boy to have around. He has even made to the front of the team a few times,
we will see what comes of it. Right now I have no expectations for him, where it takes awhile
for dogs to get used to you, and how you do things. So we will see as time goes on!
And that is Fort Illio's 2009 Race Team!
