The team is shaping up very nicely, and training is going very well. We are a little behind in
mileage than what we want to be, but within the next couple of weekends we should be getting
 right back on track.

On Sunday's run we had a deer cross right in front of the team. And of course that always
makes the run a little more interesting. I had Kotka and Kaleeta in lead, Kaleeta stayed on
trail but Kotka really wanted that deer. Luckily Kaleeta pulled Kotka right on by it. Kotka is
really stepping up to being  one of my up and coming leaders.  She has learned a lot just by
running in lead with Kaleeta. Plus she sets a very fast pace for the team.  She is a very hard
driving little girl.  So that brings me to talking about who is making the race team this year!

Starting in alphabetical order:

Aryan: Aryan is for sure one of the teams key leaders, plus a very hard working boy, and is a
steady and consistent boy. He will make the majority of the races for sure!

Blazer:  Blazer is always a very key player to the team. He always has amazing work ethics
and so far has never had an injury. This boy is a very strong and dependable worker. He will
make the race team for sure!

Cree:  Cree is doing a phenomenal job with this being her first serious year in training.  I
keep forgetting how young she is, because of how well she is doing in harness.  She will be on
the team for some of the races for sure!

Demon: Demon is doing great this year as always. He is a major speed pusher, and also
having great work ethics. He is one of our back up leaders as well, which is always nice to
have.  As long as he doesn't get injured, like he did last year, he will make all the races for
sure!

Kaleeta: Kaleeta always amazes me with her amazing leader skills. She will be at the front of
our race team for all the races this year. She has so far never been injured too. She may be
the best sled dog in the kennel.

Kiowa: Kiowa is a very hard worker when we are going a speed he likes. He will be a back up
for the race team this year.

Kody Kid: Kody at being 9 years old is still a major part of the team. He is doing great this
year, and will be a huge part of the team. Being one of our main leaders we really need him on
the team!

Kotka: Kotka is just amazing, I really didn't expect her to be leading the team for me this
year, where I just got her in April. But apparently I was wrong! She bonded with me very
quick, and follows me around the kennel when we let them all run. She is a bullet in harness
and sets an amazingly fast pace! She is for sure going to be a huge part of the race team this
year!

Phoenix: Phoenix is still very much a puppy to me, mostly because of the way she acts. She
is doing great in harness and is a major worker on the team. She will make a few races this
year, where we don't want to over exuberate her.

Ryder: Ryder is doing great this year in harness! Even better than last year, not that last
year needed any improving what so ever! He is a main string dog, and will be until the day
comes when he must retire. Definitely my top male in the yard! He will be a huge part of the
races this year as well!

Storm: Storm is doing great this year! He has picked it up a bit from last year, and has even
been at the front of the team from time to time! He will be making the race team for sure this
year, and can't wait to see what he does!
